Littledale Hall Resident & Staff Christmas Celebration Feedback (2008)
"I really enjoyed yesterday. The activities were really good for me and I was really pleased that I pushed myself to join in. This is something I wouldn't normally do for fear of making a fool of myself but I need to try not to care about that and do it anyway." ________________ "Looking back on the day it was fabulous, so much effort from staff and residents." ________________ "Mixed feelings about the day's activities. Previously if I could not avoid social situations I would drink to excess to numb my feelings of anxiety and lack of confidence. However, I feel I managed well yesterday, engaging in all activities. Hopefully these situations will become easier." ________________ "The 23rd December. What a wonderful day! The deer, the river. Staff serving brunch in Xmas attire. The brilliant jingles created in just ½ hour - such a laugh! A whole community enjoying this festive season together. Just like one big family. A time to cherish and remember forever!" ________________ "Yesterday was a memorable day. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It was lovely to see everybody happy and relaxed including the staff! It was good to see them on a different level. A lot of effort has been put in to make sure we all have a good Christmas. I really appreciate this!" ________________ "Yesterday was really good and I felt part of something for once at Xmas because I've always kept myself away from it all." ________________ "Yesterday was fantastic, staff and residents really pulled together. It was a privilege to be part of the festivities here at LHTC. Christmas this year will be my 1st sober one in a long time." ________________
"I thought the staff and resident day was brilliant. There was a real community spirit in the air. I can't think of anywhere where so many people can pull together and have so much clean and healthy fun without a hitch. I felt a sense of loss, which took me by surprise. It was due to having a good time being clean. It made me think of Christmas's past, which I don't particularly remember (or at least not for the right reasons). At the same time it made me think of all the Christmas's still to come and showed me the possibilities of how they could be. It also felt good that for the first time in a long time my family knew I was safe, well and in good company."
