FAMILIES AND VISITORS

Family and friends may play a vital role in the recovery process. Given this residents are encouraged (when possible and appropriate) to attempt to rebuild or develop positive relationships with family and friends. If residents have children they will be supported (where possible and appropriate) to rebuild or support existing relationships. In practice this means residents:

  • Can receive post
  • Can make weekly phone calls (once they have completed the belonging stage)
  • May have one visit when at the belonging stage (this also provides an opportunity for family to meet staff and discuss the programme)
  • Can request weekend visits (every 2 / 3 weeks)
  • May request home visits (at an appropriate stage in their treatment programmes)
  • May ask family members to contribute to their treatment (e.g. participating in family meetings)
  • Can invite family and friends to annual open days.
  • Littledale welcomes visits from other professionals and offers a range of placement opportunities (e.g. for student social workers).

Littledale Hall has visiting guidelines. No-one will be allowed to visit unless these are met (e.g. all visitors must be drug and alcohol free). Littledale Hall is based in a working estate. Due to some of the activities that occur during the year access may be restricted.

All interested parties are able (subject to the rules governing confidentiality) to contact staff during normal office hours for information about a resident.
